National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Every day more than 115 Americans Die after overdosing on opioids, including prescription pain killers.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day for 2018 is scheduled for April 28th. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. Bring unused or expired prescription drugs for proper disposal.

Items collected on the local collection dates above will be secured until the official date, and disposed of by partnering law enforcement officials.

All information will be confidential. If possible, please remove all patient information from packaging.

Do NOT remove medication name and description information.

No unused syringes or liquid medications please.

MAO’s team members will be happy to advise you on the safe disposal of these items.
