Medical Advocacy and Outreach (MAO) is pleased to invite you to join us for the 2017 Breaking Barriers Summit. The Summit will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Montgomery, Alabama on February 11th, 2017 from 8:30 AM – 4:45 PM with a Networking Reception from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.

The Breaking Barriers Summit will bring together physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, social workers, health educators, and public health professionals working in primary care, HIV specialty care, health disparities, women’s health, and related health fields. The conference will feature two tracks:

  1. Clinical Track – For clinicians (CME/CEU available for physicians and nurses)
  2. Social, Behavioral and Community Track – For social service or behavioral health providers and community health advocates (CEU available for social workers and counselors)

This Summit will feature presentations and discussion on how we can together “break the barriers” between primary care and specialty providers, providers and their communities, healthcare professionals and clients. In celebration of Black History Month, National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and Heart Health Month, both tracks will highlight new information in community health, cardiovascular disease, cultural competency, and HIV.
