National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Every day more than 115 Americans Die after overdosing on opioids, including prescription pain killers.
The next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day for 2022 is scheduled for October 29th. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. Bring unused or expired prescription drugs for proper disposal to MAO sites in Montgomery and Dothan during regular office hours throughout the year. For October 29th, visit the DEA Drug Take Back website to locate the closest weekend drop off location to you.
Items collected on the local collection dates above will be secured until the official date, and disposed of by partnering law enforcement officials.
